浅場での簡単なスキンダイビングのための大荷物を、港にある待合施設の「シマテラス初島」に￥５００で預けて、いざ出掛ける。現在2時過ぎである。荷物預かりは４時半までなので、それまでに戻らねばならない。島一周の工程は、およそ４キロほどである。特にこだわらずに、ただ観光箇所を眺めるだけであれば５０分ほどで終わるほどの距離である。
まずは地元のお食事処が並ぶ、よく潜る岩場の前の通りを歩いていく。店によっては店頭に水槽があり、今これから捌いてくれる魚を観ることができる。注文が入ったら絞めなければならないので可哀そうなのだが、珍しい生物がいることもあるので、眺めているだけでも結構楽しい。
I went out to the inside of "Hatsushima" after I entrusted my large luggage for
my skin diving in the shallow sea to the waiting center, "Shima Terrace
Hatsushima" near the port by 500 yen. It was about 2 p.m. I had to return here
until 4:30, because the center closed at the time. The road of going around this
island was approximately 4 km. If you didn't take some detours and only
watched the sightseeing place, you would finish this walk in about 50 minutes.
At first, I walked through the main street where the local restaurants lined up
and it was placed before the shore at which I always swam. Some restaurants
had the fish tanks before the entrance. You can observe the fishes which you
are going to eat. If someone ordered one, the fish have to be killed. Though the situations was very sorrow for me, the rare creatures of the sea were
sometimes in the fish tank. So I could enjoy only watching it.
ヤリイカ？のご夫婦がトイレになっている。二人で支えている手洗い場が、何とも可愛らしい。
The couple of the spear squids? changed the shape of toilet. The washing
place supported by their hands was very lovely.
ここは、大海原を背景にした絶景の撮影スポットになっており、タイマーを使った携帯の自撮り用の台が設置されている。
Here is the scenic photo spot with the ocean in the background. In addition, the selfie stand for cell phone was set.

島内唯一の温泉施設、”島の湯”である。地下４０ｍからくみ上げた井戸水を沸かしている。海水が島の地下に浸透する間に、多量のミネラル分が蓄積されるそうで、美肌効果が期待できるだろう。
隣には夏季限定の海水プール、”海のプール”があり、広大な海景を眺めながら食事やフロートドリンクが楽しめるそうである。テントサウナなるものも始めたらしく、一体どんなものなのか、気になって仕方がない。
This is the only hot spring facility in this island, "Shima no Yu". The facility
pumps up the well water from 40 m underground and boils it. While the sea
water penetrated under the ground of the island, it seemed that the large
amount of minerals were accumulated. Therefore, we expect the effect for the
beautiful skin.
Next to it, there is the seawater pool which opens only in summer, "Umi no
Pool". We would enjoy foods and float drink with watching the wide sea view.
Though I heard the name for the first time, it began "Tent Sauna". What is it? I
couldn't stop my interesting.
長い階段を上って、愈々島の内部へ入っていく。無数の南国の植物に圧倒される。
登った先には、アジアンガーデン”R-Asia”と、併設されたコテージ風の宿泊施設”アイランドキャンプ ヴィラ”がある。”R－Asia”では、トロピカル・ドリンクやビールを嗜むことができるようである。宿泊施設は設備が整っており、潮騒を聞きながら快適な睡眠が楽しめる、まるで王族の気分が堪能できること間違いなし、だそうである。
After I went up the long stairs, I entered the interior of the island finally. I was
overwhelmed by the countless tropical plants.
At the top of the stairs, there were Asian Garden "R-Asia" and the neighbor
cottage-like accommodation "Island Camp Villa". We would enjoy tropical drink and beers in "R-Asia". As the accommodation seem to be well equipped, the
staff seemed to say that everybody will enjoy comfortable sleep with hearing the sound of wave, there is no doubt that you will feel like royalty.
”アガベ”、いわゆるリュウゼツランである。メキシコではこれを基に、日本では悪名高いテキーラが生産される。何十年かに一度、貴重な花を咲かせるそうである。その光景もなかなか奇妙で、急に一本の細い茎が高く伸びて、その先に何房もの花を咲かせる。この植物の生態の不思議が気になってならない。ただ、テキーラなんだが…。
Agave is so-called "the orchids like the tongue of dragon" in Japanese. Mexican make Tequila which is notorious in some meaning in Japan by using this. I
heard that it is bloomed precious flowers once every few decades. The scene of blooming is very strange. Suddenly, a single thin stem grows very tall. Around
the stop of the stem, it makes many bunches and many little flowers bloom at
the bunches. I am very interested in the wonder of the ecology of this plant. But, my impression is just Tequila.....
昨今は熱中症対策に過敏なので、こうした日陰の遊歩道はありがたい。
Nowadays, we are hypersensitive to measures against heat stroke.
