”大原公園”と”平和の鐘” 2025.1.3 "Ohara Park" and "Bell for Peace"

”自然とゆとりと歴史の公園”と定評の、”大原公園”に行ってみる。
We decided to go to "Ohara Park", which has a reputation as "a park of nature,
車で走るには随分と狭い民家町を、縫うように進む。案内が乏しいので、到着には若干難儀した。
上の写真の看板に出会って右折すると急に視野は開け、池沿いに出るが、道は車一台しか通れないほどに細くなる。看板らしきものは何もないが、俄かに現れた不釣り合いに広い土地が駐車場であろう、と目途を付ける。駐車場の隅に、園内をめぐる遊歩道を描いた地図が立っている。すぐ脇に、公園への入り口があった。

I weaved my way in a very narrow residential area for a car. There was a lack of guiding signs, so it was a bit difficult to get there.
When we came across the sign in the photo above and turned right, the view
suddenly opened up and we went to the road along the side of a pond, but it
became so narrow that only one car could pass through. Though we couldn't
find anything that looked like a sign, the disproportionately large piece of land
suddenly appeared. We thought that it must be a parking lot. At the corner of
the parking lot, there was a map depicting the walking paths through the park. We found the entrance to the park next to it.
大原公園には、季節に合わせて桜や藤、紫陽花などが開花するそうである。好きな花の時期に訪れれば、楽しみは増幅するだろう。
目下の目当ては数奇な運命を辿った末、園内に設置された平和の鐘”である。

駐車場から断続する階段の傾斜は、案外きつい。弟の愛犬は犬年齢ゆえ、人間であれば優に後期高齢者に入っているのだが、果敢に階段を上がっていく。弟との散歩を楽しんでいる健気な様子は、傍で見ていて実に愛らしい。

”平和の鐘”に向かって黙々と足を上げ続ける。やがて目途の見えない苦しみを避けるようにして、頭の中は取り留めのない思考に沈んでいく。”平和”か、と考えると、かの国に思いが及ぶ。
以前に記したが、私にはキーウに住むウクライナ人の友人がいる（過去の記事：「ウクライナ人の友人 Ukrainian friend of mine」）。夫は依然として、開戦当初から徴兵に従事しており、彼女はまだ若い2児と共に暮らしている。今現在でも毎夜、空襲を知らせるサイレンが市街に響き渡ると言う。

says that even now, sirens warning of air raids echo throughout the city every
night.
FB伝てに送ってくれた写真を、幾つかここに掲載することを彼女は快諾してくれた。日本の報道機関は、ウクライナの市街や民間人が攻撃された悲惨な映像や画像、あるいは国外へ避難したものの、慣れない土地で様々な壁に苦しむ人々の姿ばかり報道したがる。
ここに掲載した写真も、昔から変わらない、今でも美しいウクライナである。

日本で見掛けることはないが、ウクライナではビルの壁面一面に絵画が描かれていることがよくあるそうである。写真で見ただけでも、なかなかの圧巻である。町の中にはアートが溢れている。

海に近い園内の最も高い場所なので、さすがに見晴らしがいい。それ故、ここには江戸時代後期には黒船来航以来の外国船を見張る遠見櫓が、第二次大戦中には関東を爆撃に来る米軍機の監視所が設置されていた。
Though "finally" may be an exaggerated expression, it probably takes about 15 minutes. I could see " Bell for Peace".As here was the highest point in the park near the sea, the view was so great.
Therefore, in the late Edo period, a far-seeing tower was set up here to watch
over foreign ships after the arrival of the Black Ships, and during World War II, a lookout post was set up to watch over American military aircraft which came to bomb the Kanto region.
